Scholarships Available

Since our founding, the National Tongan American Society continues to be a strong advocate and supporter of excellence in education. We invest in our community through internships and scholarships to further the education of Tongan-American graduates and empower a new generation of leaders.

The National Tongan American Society is proud to announce the following scholarships for the high school graduating class of 2022 and college or university students who wish to further their studies. The scholarships available are:

  • Ma’u Tofi’a (Sione Kaisa Lui) Scholarship

  • Malohifo’ou Grandchildren Scholarship

  • Dr. Nia 'Aita'oto Scholarship

  • Tau Seiuli Scholarship

  • Tasiaeafe & Tautaligogo Savini Scholarship

  • Serenity Funeral Home Scholarship (In memory of Peni Malohifo'ou and Ricky Ankers)

  • National Tongan American Society Scholarship


Scholarships range in the amounts of $500 to $1000 and scholarship winners will be announced at the annual Reef of Today is the Island of Tomorrow Award Program scheduled for Saturday, June 11th, 2022 at the Mana Academy Charter School.


To apply for a scholarship, applicants are required to submit the following:

  • College Transcript or High School transcript for entering Freshman.

  • A cover letter that demonstrates your qualifications, how you plan to use the scholarship, extracurricular activities and any special recognition and awards.

  • Student Aid Report (SAR) showing assistance, grants, scholarships student are receiving.

  • Application must be completed, signed and dated.

  • Each application must be accompanied by two letters of recommendation and a cover letter.

  • DEADLINE: All materials must be submitted by May 25, 2022.
