    Welcome to the National Tongan-American Society (NTAS) division of Sports activities. Our Mission is activating NTAS (also referred to as the "Society") community members, families, and their friends to:  

  • Live active and physically motivated lives.
  • Enjoy physical activities socially.
  • Learn to respect fair competition.
  • Strive to become life-time sports champions.

The Society has a long tradition with the game of Rugby Union (15 and 7-players versions) featured in its annual “Friendly Islands Festival.” Coed-volleyball and women’s net-ball have been added in recent years; tennis and boxing are the new additions to the 2008 Festival.

RUGBY SUMMER SATURDAY MATCHES: (Updated Sunday, July 13, 2008)

         

         LOCATION: Murray Rugby Stadium, 5300 S. State Street (behind BEST BUY store & Murray City Park).

 

         DATE: July 19, regular season championships. Six teams in Knockout playoffs in the first round. Three winners in semi-final round with the team scoring highest points automatically gets first-seed in championship match. 2nd and 3rd teams meet in the semi-final round. 

 

 GAMES: Senior Men's, six teams, three first-round matches; semi-final match; and the championship match.

 

         TIME: 12 noon - 8 PM.
